Operationalizing Equity: Evidence-based Grantmaking Strategies for Reducing Health Disparities
The Healing Trust
My final project is a white paper that shares how foundations can operationalize equity in their programming and share power with the communities they serve. The white paper explores how foundations can practice deeper inclusion in engaging and supporting their partners. The paper focuses on strategies The Healing Trust uses to improve health equity and reduce health disparities in Middle TN minority communities that can be applied to a larger global context.

I have made significant contributions and demonstrated leadership in five programs
that are positively impacting people, communities, and health systems in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Through my work developing and evaluating training programs for faculty in the health sciences, I have helped equip educators from multiple countries across the education continuum to enhance their practice, positively impacting the preparation of their students to enter health professions and improve health outcomes in their communities.
